Magnets and Motors and electricity!
We read about how animals may use the magnetism of the earth to find their way around. We graphed the "measuring magnets" experiment results, and looked at a homemade compass that showed us North in our classroom. We also looked at how magnets could force it to move and spin.
Tomorrow we will build a circuit with a switch and light bulb and then see how the electricity flowing through the wires affects the compass.
We watched Bill Nye Electricity and answered his four questions in our M&M booklet.
Final grades will still include the Magnets and Motors booklets and Block 4 Final.

Last Math Homework!
Block 4 Review worksheet. Block 4 test tomorrow! We have officially finished the three sixth grade math books!
Science: Bill Nye Magnetism. We answered "is the earth a big magnet?", "what causes magnetism?" "what is magnetism?" and "what three things are attracted to magnets?".

Graphing Linear Equations
New seats tomorrow.
Math: Warm up and Lesson 24 completed in class today. Students are doing an excellent job of graphing linear eqations.
Science: Magnets and Motors. Students were given a "bag of stuff" and made hypotheses and collected data based on the items reaction to magnets. Tomorrow, building a bridge... how many paper #10 washers can a magnet support?
Block 4 Test Friday, Math Final Monday.
Look for a big envelope filled with the year's quizzes, tests, and science foldables. Students can earn extra credit if you look through it and sign the envelope.
